It’s that time of the year when we give thanks for all our blessings, so this is surely the time we remember the love and kindness bestowed upon our family members by the Misericordia Staff.

As parents and siblings of special needs family members, we quickly discover that the standard child-rearing manuals often do not apply. We wonder who will take our place and show these unique children and adults respect and provide daily encouragement. In our Misericordia staff, we find an answer to our prayers. This loving group of caretakers is there to step in when they continue their lives at Misericordia.

It’s a very special blessing to have found a place where the care that we gave our family members continues in our absence. It’s a wonderful feeling to walk across campus and realize that the staff know our dear ones, not just by name, but for who they are - their smiles, their love of music, their interest in sports, and more.
