Sister Rosemary Misericordia Candy Days Challenge Grant
Hello Friends,
I hope you are well. It does seem like yesterday when I reached out to you last April regarding our Misericordia 2021 Candy Days but another year truly has gone by. I thought after a couple of years of a virtual Candy Days I would finally get used to not waking up at 6:00 am to head downtown. But I must tell you that I do miss it. I miss seeing how kind people are to our residents who join me at Union Station; I miss thanking all of our friends who would drop a donation in the collection can both in the morning and even sometimes again on their way home; and I miss getting the calls from our Candy Day coordinators who would coordinate thousands of volunteers throughout the Chicagoland area. What can I say….after 30+ years of an annual routine, you get used to it!!
But what I will always be amazed at is how blessed and fortunate we have been these past two years when we were forced to pivot to a virtual Candy Days. You made sure that Candy Days would still go on and still be Misericordia’s most successful fundraiser. What a gift you are and I am humbled by your friendship and generous support.
Our new Hearts & Flour Bakery and Café opened earlier this week and I was so thrilled to see the patrons and our residents working in the bakery! I encourage all of you to watch this Fox 32 Chicago link showing William hugging his mom on his first day of work as she surprised him with a visit.
And we will soon be starting construction on our new residential community for 10 homes adjacent to our campus to reach out to some of the many families on our waitlist. Your support has made this possible.
I am sharing my 2022 Candy Days online fundraising page as I hope you will again consider supporting Misericordia this year as it continues to be a virtual fundraiser. And once again, we are so grateful to a generous couple and a foundation who will match all Candy Days donations UP TO $150,000!
Simply click on the following – SUPPORT MISERICORDIA CANDY DAYS – and you will be directed to my page. I thank you sincerely for your consideration and continued efforts to KEEP MISERICORDIA STRONG!
May God bless you, may God keep you safe, and may you know that you continue to be in our prayers.
Gratefully,
Sister Rosemary
