Thank you Bob Noga!Bob Noga

Robert Noga – aka Bob, Mr. Noga or NOGA! is retiring after 50 years as Food Service Manager of Misericordia

In 1969, upon his return from his tour of duty in Vietnam in the US Army (thank you for your service!), Mr. Noga took a position at Angel Guardian Orphanage (AGO) under the direction of Fr. Niemeyer, Administrator of AGO as Food Service Manager and Purchasing. Five years later, he joined Sr. Rosemary Connelly at Misericordia South as Food Service Manager and the rest is history.

As Director of Food Service, Bob’s main role was being responsible for assuring quality meals for the Misericordia residents every day of the year. He was always available and eager for our residents to enjoy life to its fullest.

Bob Noga’s name also became synonymous with Misericordia hospitality. He brought our bakery, restaurant and our event dining to an unparalleled level of excellence. Under his guidance, the Greenhouse Inn Restaurant and the Lois Gates Courtyard Inn and the Jean Marie Ryan Center banquet rooms have been enjoyed by thousands. And for years, Mr. Noga oversaw all food procurement for our Annual Family Festival – feeding over 15,000 visitors, which greatly contributed to the success of Family Fest each year!

After years of educating and training, Bob will be passing the baton to Jim Ahlfeld and Kyle Rhone, but there is really no replacing this dedicated, committed, and unique individual. For 50 years, he has embraced Misericordia’s mission so beautifully. We have been truly blessed with his goodness, his boundless energy, and his wry sense of humor. He set a high standard for us all and pushed us (strongly) to reach for the stars. Bob nurtured many lifelong friendships throughout his tenure here at Misericordia and it will not be the same without him.

We wish him good health and a wonderful retirement with his loving wife Diane, his son Matthew, his daughter Kim, their spouses Patty and Marilyn, and his adoring grandchildren, Nathan, Sofia, Gabriella and Dylan. Bob’s family is his pride and joy! We know he looks forward to spending more time with them.
