Misericordia: Important Announcement / Newsletter
Dear Friends,
Hope you are well and enjoying the first few days of spring. As you will see from our spring newsletter (CLICK HERE), we continue to be blessed here at Misericordia and had a very busy winter. I also want to share a few important updates regarding the Misericordia Foundation.
My dear friend and colleague, Lois Gates, is retiring on April 1. We will all miss Lois, but I am thrilled for her and know that she will continue to be a big part of Misericordia moving forward. We are fortunate that Lois will continue to share her expertise as a Board member on the Foundation and as a devoted volunteer working with our benefactors and fundraising groups. We wish Lois the very best in her retirement, and I know I speak for the residents, their families and the entire Misericordia Community when I say we are all grateful to Lois for making an incredible difference here at Misericordia. Congratulations Lois!
I am delighted to announce that Dan Walsh has become the chairman of the Board of Misericordia Foundation. Dan and his wonderful wife, Patty, have been involved with Misericordia for decades as parents, volunteers and benefactors. We have been so blessed with their time, expertise, friendship and generous support throughout the years. Dan is the co-chairman of The Walsh Group, one of the largest and most established builders in North America. He has served on numerous Boards, including the Board of Directors of Misericordia Home and, since 2021, the Board of Directors of the Misericordia Foundation.
I am also delighted to share that Kevin Connelly is now the Executive Director of the Misericordia Foundation. Kevin has been an integral part of our Finance/Development Office since 1992 and most recently served as Chief Financial Officer and co-Director of Development. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors of Misericordia Home from 2015-2025.
Finally, I am excited to share that Julie O'Sullivan is now the Director of Events and Public Relations for the Misericordia Foundation. Julie has been at Misericordia since 2002 and has worked closely with Lois, Kevin and our auxiliary fundraising groups since becoming a member of our Development Office in 2014.
Congratulations to Dan, Kevin and Julie as we know they will do an excellent job in their new roles. We are blessed to have their leadership at this time and grateful to them for agreeing to serve in their respective capacities for the Misericordia Foundation.
Thank you for your friendship and wonderful support and for being part of our Misericordia Family. We hope you enjoy the most recent newsletter. God’s blessings on you and yours.
Sincerely,
Sister Rosemary
