Board Candidate Slate Process
ATTENTION ALL MFA FAMILIES! (March 6th Deadline)
The MFA Board is beginning the process of creating a slate of candidates to serve on the board with terms running from 08/01/2026 to 07/31/2028. This slate will be presented to the membership for a vote at the upcoming MFA General Meeting scheduled for April 12, 2026.
Current Board Status and Opportunities for New Members
We currently have an engaging board which has been serving you well, and most of the board members whose terms will be expiring on 07/31/2026 have expressed interest in continuing their roles. This continuity is excellent for maintaining a smoothly running organization. However, we want to emphasize that the board is open to all and not a closed club.
Encouraging Member Participation
MFA members are encouraged to express interest in specific areas and to work alongside current board members. This collaboration could take the form of committee participation or an apprenticeship, depending on the board position. By teaming up with current board members, you will have the opportunity to contribute to important tasks, understand the skills required, and determine if the position suits you should it become available in the future.
Board Position Options and Exploration
Some positions, such as Site Representatives, are ideal for first-time board members, while other roles require significant prior experience. Joining a committee or shadowing current board members is a low-pressure way to explore specific areas of board service and gain insight into how the board operates. This approach also provides meaningful ways to honor our commitment to the organization that supports our loved ones, and it is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow members on our Misericordia journey.
