The biggest events news of the past month:

1. The CILA talent show was held after the MFA meeting on Oct. 27th. Over 30 acts performed for a large crowd of CILA residents, their families and staff. Talents included singing, dancing, joke telling, piano performances and more. I was impressed with the hidden talent at Misericordia. There was much hand clapping. Watch out Hollywood!  Most of all a big Bravo to the staff that organized and assisted with the performance. They brought out the best in each resident.  It could not have happened without them.

2. I have shared some pictures from the CILA Halloween festivities. A Halloween party was hosted by the McAllister men at their house. It was a great time with snacks and costumes. Most CILAs also joined the campus Halloween party the following week. The costumes were so creative and the residents were very enthusiastic in their choice of characters.

3. The Gerber-Hoag CILA was opened last week. Five residents moved in (3 new admissions) with 2 more eventually. This is an apartment style building with 4 units, all single bedrooms. It is located across the street on Devon from the main campus of Misericordia. I know this made for some very happy new families and residents. It is great that Misericordia is able to expand their residential settings.
