Today we’re spotlighting Kathy Watts from our Development Department! Kathy has been at Misericordia for the past 12 years and has had many roles including Direct Support Professional, Developmental Training Instructor in the Art Department, and now in the Development Office. Misericordia was a new field and second career for Kathy and she said she immediately felt welcomed and at home when she started. Her coworkers helped her learn quickly and she felt part of a community. She has stayed at Misericordia because she feels the work is rewarding and important for our residents. Kathy is proud of the 10 years she was able to be a part of The Artist in All event with residents. She loved seeing the residents showing off their work and being so proud of their accomplishments. In her current role, Kathy is the designer of the Mis quarterly newsletter, works on graphics and helps to promote Misericordia through print and social media. She is still very involved with The Artist in All, but now helps to organize the event and assist the art program. During the pandemic, Kathy has seen resiliency in staff and residents. Everyone is figuring out new ways to approach their jobs, staying in the moment, and staying positive. In her spare time, Kathy has been completed some personal art pieces, cooking, and spending time with her family. Thank you, Kathy, for your dedicated to our residents! #MisericordiaStrong #MisericordiaCommunity (photo taken pre-Covid)
