The months of October and November have been very busy and exciting for the residents of Shannon. In honor of the 2020 election; residents participated in classes and activities from the history of voting in America to making an election cake. Registered residents were very excited to cast their votes in the election.

Soon after voting, all thoughts turned to Halloween. Much time was spent making decorations and constructing the Shannon float for the Misericordia Halloween parade. After the parade, everyone celebrated with a special Halloween feast and dance party.

As the weather turns cooler, Residents continue to cultivate their fall garden, enjoy making healthy drinks and taking part in seasonally themed cooking classes. Even though Covid keeps residents from community interaction, they can still take walks around campus and drives through the area. Some residents prefer virtual trips or a variety of classes offered by Shannon’s creative staff.

Due to the current surge of Covid, CDS programming in Conway, Bakery, Coffee, Recycling and other areas has been suspended. Carol Hawley, the Shannon Apartments Director, recently posted a letter on the Shannon Facebook page informing Family Members how the creative Shannon Staff and CDS will continue to provide enriching programs for all residents. Please click the object below to read the communication. Thank you to Carol and all the Shannon Staff for their hard work and loving care. You are all amazing. We are truly blessed to have each of you. Stay safe and Happy Holidays!
