Today we’re spotlighting Thomas McManus a Behavior Support Professional (BSP) from our Behavior Department! Thomas has been at Misericordia for almost 2 years now. He enjoys working at Misericordia because it’s a very rewarding, creative job that makes him happy! “Visiting the Botanic Gardens with some village residents in the Summer of 2019 is something I'll never forget. Spending a few hours in nature on a beautiful sunny afternoon with nice company, I found myself thinking, I can’t believe this is my job, a thought I have had countless times while working with the residents” – Thomas Throughout his time at Misericordia, and especially during the pandemic, Thomas has seen first-hand the importance of community and solidarity during difficult times. “Seeing the resilience and strength exhibited from the staff and residents every day has reaffirmed for me that often the best way to help oneself is to help others” Something his coworkers might not know is that he lived in Korea for a year teaching English. He’s currently been spending his free time studying Korean, reading, listening to music, going on walks and enjoying nature. Thank you, Thomas, for all you’ve been doing to support residents with new programs and ideas during this time! #MisericordiaStrong *photo taken pre- Covid-19
