Misericordia Candy Days and Jewel Osco Register Campaign Update
Dear Misericordia family and friends,
Our 38th Annual Candy Days is scheduled for April 26-27, 2024. We are excited to announce that we will be both virtual and back out in the community collecting donations for Misericordia this year. After being absent from view for the past four years, we will once again give witness to the city of Chicago and suburbs by our presence in front of storefronts, train stations, banks, schools, churches, etc., but NOT on the streets and NOT in traffic.
Candy Days is Misericordia’s largest fundraising event and creating a fundraising page is vital to its success. Last year, families and friends established 443 fundraising pages that reached 10,721 donors and raised more than $2 million! Please visit our website at www.misericordia.com for information and directions on how to setup a fundraising page.
As you may already know Jewel-Osco holds their register campaign for Misericordia during the month of March. This year the register keypad looks a little different when asking for the $1, $3, $5 and "other" donations. It now says, "Would you like to donate to support people with Disabilities?" Please know that all donations from the campaign are still going directly to the Misericordia Foundation. We would love if you could spread the word to your community of supporters to make them aware that Jewel is still raising money for the children and adults who call Misericordia home. Please also look for a donation box at each register with our name and logo on it as a second option for people to make donations. If you do not see a donation box at the register, please feel free to ask the manager of the store if they can put them out.
We are so grateful to Jewel-Osco President Mike Withers for once again making this happen this year for Misericordia. We are also so grateful to all of you for your continued support of our residents and our mission.
Blessings & gratitude,
Sister Rosemary Connelly, Lois Gates and The Misericordia Foundation
