Organization and leadership changes at MisericordiaMis Logo and circle name two tone

November 14, 2022

Dear Fellow Employees and Families,

As you know, there have been some important organization and leadership changes at Misericordia in the past year: The advent of the Misericordia Foundation and Sister Rosemary and Lois’s move to become its leaders and some shifts at Misericordia Home. Through all these changes, we still maintain our focus on the residents and their families and our staff. Our mission is clear.

Earlier this year we announced that Mary Pat O’Brien’s Administration Team was going to be restructured and some job titles were going to change. Mary Pat was going to have three vice-presidents reporting to her. One overseeing all of Residential Life, one leading Employment and Programs, and a third in charge of a newly formed group, Clinical Services. These vice-presidents are expected to lead Misericordia into the future by focusing on its strategic needs, in particular maintaining our culture of excellent service and actively engaging our employees in our mission work.

I am pleased to announce that we have identified two of the new vice-presidents. They are Tina Stendardo (Employment and Programs) and Chris Hegg-Krackenberger (Residential Life). Tina and Chris are both talented leaders and are committed to Misericordia. We are still interviewing for the vice-president of clinical services.

As the interviews happened I realized once again how gifted our Administration is. In some ways I saw things in people that are not my personal gifts and, therefore, need their help to accomplish these gifts. While I have a very clear vision for Misericordia, the long-term organization planning needed to achieve that vision is an area where I know I can use assistance and help. As a result, I have created a new vice-president role, Strategy, People, and Culture. I’ve asked Geana Connelly to take on this role. She will report to Mary Pat.

They will all need your support and prayers as they take on these roles. Much is going to be expected of them. Please join me in congratulating them on their promotions. I want to add my thanks to those who have applied for these positions and will remain in the current roles. They are important to us and needed.

The roles of all leaders at Misericordia are evolving and changing. There are going to be opportunities for all employees to demonstrate motivated, high levels of performance, and a willingness to take on development feedback and grow.

I truly value your dedication and contributions to Misericordia. You are always in my prayers. Thank you.
