MFA Membership Meeting Update
Hello MFA Families,
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fall General Meeting on Sunday. It was wonderful to be together, and we’re grateful for the energy, engagement, and care you bring to our Misericordia community. If you couldn’t attend—or would like to revisit the program—the recorded meeting is available below.
This meeting’s keynote presentation, A Lifetime of Care: Navigating the Journey of Aging Together, offered thoughtful guidance on palliative care, hospice, and planning ahead for our loved ones. We encourage all families to watch the presentation and explore the reference links provided, as these topics are essential to ensuring the best long-term decisions for our residents.
The meeting highlights were:
- We presented a ceremonial check for $2,034,627.84 to Misericordia Home and the Misericordia Foundation, representing the 2026 Benefit and the 2025 Staff Holiday Campaign.
- Combined with all MFA family-initiated fundraising across Misericordia events, our community contributed over $19 million to Misericordia this past year.
- Benefit ’27 will be held June 24, 2027, at Soldier Field, with more music and new ways to support Misericordia.
- We heard important updates from Fr. Jack and Kevin Connelly, including upcoming sessions on special needs trusts and advance directives.
- Our Misericordia license plate brackets—designed by Lynn and Ray Sojka—sold out within 30 minutes; more will be available soon, so stay tuned.
- The annual Halloween SIBS Party will take place today, October 25, and all families are welcome (see more below).
We are blessed to be part of this extraordinary community of families who show up, give generously, and support one another.
